TIPS
  • Crackle is intended for walls and some flooring (subject to job specifications).
  • Recommended for interior use only.
  • Crackle tiles must be sealed prior to grouting.
  • Crackle tile has a mid-range shade variation. The amount of crackle will vary from lot to lot.
  • Not all shapes are recommended for the crackle finish. Consult price list for further details.
  • Due to local raw materials and unique manufacturing techniques, variations in body and color from tile to tile are to be expected. This is considered desirable and inherent due to the hand crafted processing of our product.
FAQ
  1. Can I use Classic tile on my bathroom, kitchen, or shower floor?
Gloss is not recommended for the floor, however satin and matte can be used on all residential floors.
  2. Do you recommend a certain product for sealing the crackle finish?
A sealer should be applied before and after grouting and is recommended for the crackle finish due to contaminants getting into the cracks. The sealer should be applied per manufactuer’s instructions and the brand to use can be determined by the contractor/buyer.
  3. Does the shade very? By how much of a range?
The shade does vary within industry standards: deltaE<1.0
  4. Do you recommend a certain size spacer for different lines?
The end user should make that decision. The tile has no lugs, so the tile can be butt-jointed, or spaced up to ½" if desired.
  5. What kind of warranty does your tile have?
    See limited warranty section below.
  6. Can I put Classic tile near a fireplace or a stove?
Yes, if properly installed and grouted.
  7. What cleaners are recommended?
    A neutral pH non-detergent cleaner.
